Achamore is a rambling, mysterious and beautiful place, full of surprises and delights. Set in mature and varied woodland, our 54 acre garden hosts an impressive collection of rare rhododendron , which thrive in Gigha's warm microclimate. They display a breathtaking array of colour and variety throughout the warmer months, and give way to an elegant display of shape and form in the colder months. Achamore is also home to many other tender plants, culminating in the two acre walled garden, a sensory delight of shape, scent and colour. Above the walled garden, visitors experience breathtaking views west across the sea to Islay and Jura – the perfect place to take in the beauty and grandeur of Scotland's west coast.
We regularly host tour groups, who arrive both by coach and cruise ship. In association with Caledonian MacBrayne we can offer a group discount for coach tours travelling to Gigha on the twenty minute ferry crossing from Tayinloan.
Achamore is only a short walk from the village, so if you are visiting Gigha just for the day, or are staying with us for a longer holiday, make sure to make time for Achamore Gardens – the Jewel in the Crown.
