OOR DAY OOT by THE BURLERS

A Dreich Day Dawned

At 1pm the community and friends of Gigha gathered outside the Gigha Hotel. The purpose to pay back one million pounds to the Scottish Land Fund

Speeches a flowing . Shame it isn't snowing

It's wet and getting wetter . Things could be better

The flag is raised . Everyone's been praised

To the Hotel for lunch . Liquid and crunch!

An auction at 2:30 . Robbie Wilson takes charge

Things start off slow . And end off large

Homeward bound . Things to be done

Get ready for eight . We cann't be late

Speeches start again . The children perform

More speeches follow . It's all going down a storm

The ceilidh begin's . Tnings are really flowing

The dancing. The atmosphere . A solo star a glowing

More food. More drink . The music gets louder

Gigha's gathering is now complete . No one could be prouder!

A simplified account of the day's events by Mrs B.
